Geodrill Ghana Limited has donated two mechanized boreholes to two communities in the Amansie Districts. Manso Nkran is a farming community in the Amansie West District. The Community lacks potable drinking water as a results of illegal mining activities in the area. In 2020, Geodrill recognized the need to support the community with a borehole to help curb looming infections and other water borne diseases.
The timely provision of the mechanized borehole now serves about 600 people in the community. The project has also helped to reduce lost contact hours of school children travelling long distance in search of potable water before going the school. The communities have expressed their gratitude to Geodrill for the kind gesture.
Geodrill also supported Behenase Cluster of schools and the Zongo community with a mechanized borehole. The construction of the borehole has positively impacted on the lives of the communities by reducing the incidents of water bone diseases associated with drinking from polluted streams.
The total cost of the projects amounted to 50,000 GHS.
