At Geodrill, we’ve always believed our role goes beyond drilling. The work we do across Africa connects us to communities, cultures and stories every day—and we see real value in supporting the people who bring those stories to life.
That’s why we’re proud to have been a seed investor in Selase’s Adventures, an animated series created by Afrotoons. It’s a project that reflects something we care deeply about: authentic African storytelling, shared with the world.
Selase’s Adventures follows a young girl and her family as they explore different parts of Africa—its cultures, traditions and everyday moments. It’s fun, colourful and engaging, but it also does something more important: it helps young people see Africa in a real and positive way.
For many children around the world, Africa is still something they learn about from the outside. Projects like this help change that. They show the continent through its own voice—full of creativity, diversity and pride.
Backing this kind of work felt like a natural fit for us. As a company founded in Africa, we believe in investing not just in industry, but in ideas. Supporting Afrotoons is one small way we can contribute to the growth of Africa’s creative sector while helping share its stories with a global audience.
For us, sustainability isn’t just about how we operate on site. It’s also about the impact we have beyond it—supporting education, encouraging new perspectives, and helping create opportunities for future generations.
Because in the end, the stories we support today help shape how Africa is understood tomorrow.
